NITROMAK was established in 1988 as a joint venture BETWEEN Altay Group Companies and the Nitro Nobel Sweden AB together with some major Turkish industrial companies (MKEK, TEKFEN GROUP) to manufacture high quality explosives for construction, mining and exploration activities.

In 2008, 50 % of the shares acquired by Dyno Nobel Investment Australia Pty Ltd. (currently Incitec Pivot Explosives Holdings Pty Ltd.) and the name of the company changed to NITROMAK-DNX KIMYA SANAYII A.S. Current Shareholders are, Altay Group, VIEM Ticari ve Sanayi Yatirimlari Ltd. Sti, ANG Ali Nihat Gokyigit Yatirim Holding A.S. and DYNO NOBEL INC.

NITROMAK-DNX is the first producer of civil type Emulsion explosives in Turkey, which are called as the third generation explosives.

Using the technology and knowhow of Incitec Pivot Explosives Holdings Pty Ltd., NITROMAK-DNX is producing Anfo (ANFONIT), emulsion type of explosives (NOBELEX), Shock Tube and non-electrical initiation systems (NONELDET) in its plants located in Manisa/Soma and Artvin/Murgul, and serves to the market from its magazines which are located all over Turkey. Emulsion explosives are sold under the trade name NOBELEX. The Explosives and Initiation Devices, supplied by Nitromak-Dnx are as follows: Nobelex-100G, Nobelex TG, Nobelex 6000/7000, Nobelex 8000, Anfonit (ANFO), Nonelectrical Dtonator (Noneldet-LP, Noneldet-MS and Noneldet-SD), Shock Tube, Electrical Detonators, Plain Detonator, Safety Fuse, Detonating Cord.

NITROMAK-DNX supplies CE certificated products, which are produced in accordance with the quality standards TS EN ISO-9001 and ICG OHSAS TS18001.

Furthermore NITROMAK-DNX has a fleet of specially designed Bulk Charging Equipments which can mix explosives and charge directly into the drill holes. NITROMAK-DNX also provides complete blasting services using mechanised mining and charging equipments and trucks. Complete blasting services of Turkish Coal Mines including the explosives used, have been provided by NITROMAK-DNX.

Since its establishment, NITROMAK-DNX has a great contribution in solving the problems concerning all sort of blasting operations in Turkey.

(formerly Dyno Nobel Investment Australia Pty Ltd.), Nitromak-Dnx shall be the manufacturing base for the Incitec Pivot Explosives Holdings Pty Ltd.'s European market.
