CAUTOR / Dışişleri Bakanlığı için Kriptolama Sistemi
CAUTOR, Norveç'te yerleşik Kongsberg Defence Communications AS (KDC) firması tarafından geliştirilen ve Dışişleri Bakanlığı ile Büyükelçilikleri arasındaki data haberleşmesini koruyan ve diğer mesaj esaslı kullanımlara da eşit derecede uyumlu bir kripto sistemidir.
Temel sistem üç ana komponent'ten oluşur: Kriptosuz Bilgisayar (Red PC), Kriptolu Bilgisayar (Black PC) ve Nordcoder:
- Kriptosuz Bilgisayar (Red PC): Kriptosuz Bilgisayar, gizlilik derecesi olmıyan açık mesajların alınması ve gönderilmesini sağlar.
- Kriptolu Bilgisayar (Black PC) : Kriptolu Bilgisayar, dış dünyaya karşı sistemin arayüzüdür. Eğer sistem off-line modda çalışırsa, tek aktif komponent Kriptolu Bilgisayardır. Gelen herhangi bir mesaj, Kriptolu Bilgisayarın hard-diskinde ( sistemin geri kalanı aktive edilene kadar ) muhafaza edilir.
- Nordcoder: Nordcoder, kriptolama ünitesi olup Kriptosuz ve Kriptolu Bilgisayarlar arasına yerleştirilir. Nordcoder, sistemin kriptolu ve açık bölümleri arasında bir emniyet bariyeri gibi faaliyet gösterir. Kriptosuz Bilgisayardan gelen bütün mesajlar, Kriptolu Bilgisayara girmeden önce kriptolanır. Benzer şekilde, eğer mesaj önceden adreslenmiş ise, Nordcoder gelen mesajı deşifre eder.

CAUTOR is a crypto system developed by Kongsberg Defense Communications AS/Norway to protect data communication between Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Embassies and it is equally well suited for other message based applications.
The basic system consists of three main components, the Red PC, the Black PC and the Nordcoder:
- Red PC:The Red PC is handling reception and transmission of classified plain messages
- Black PC:The Black PC is the system's interface against the outside world. If the system operates in its' off-line mode, the only active component is the Black PC. Any incoming message will be stored on the Black PC's hard disk until the rest of the system is activated.
- Nordcoder: The Nordcoder is the encryption unit and is placed between the Red and the Black PC. The Nordcoder act as a security barrier between the plain and encrypted side of the system. All traffic coming from the Red PC is encrypted before entering the Black PC. Likewise if the message is destined for this location, Nordcoder will decrypt incoming traffic.
